Monterrey texture, or Monterrey Drag is a knock-down texture. It usually requires a texture blower that shoots the "mud" on the wall and then once partially dried is knocked down with a smoothing knife. This is characterized by a texture that has no random high spots since they are all "pulled" even. This texture pattern leaves random low spots instead. A newer method is to use a premolded patterned texture roller like this one to create the same patterns. The roller technique will work just as well as the texture blower technique and will save you a considerable amount of time in the process.
